    Recording the extremely low frequency pulsations of wireless communication electromagnetic fields.

    Reale Mobilfunk- und WLAN-Signale werden in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur oftmals als hochfrequente elektromagnetische Felder (HF-EMF) charakterisiert. Diese Einordnung erfasst jedoch nur einen Teil der physikalischen Realität. Die Autoren benennen einen Mechanismus, bei dem die niederfrequente Pulsung für die nicht-thermische, biologische Wirksamkeit von Mobilfunk und WLAN verantwortlich ist und nicht die unmodulierte hochfrequente Trägerwelle.

    Die aktuellen Grenzwerte von FCC (Federal Communications Commission, USA) und ICNIRP (International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection, EU) basieren auf Verhaltensstudien von Ratten (n = 8) und Affen (n = 6) aus den 1980er Jahren. Die Autoren fordern eine unabhängige Neubewertung der Grenzwerte unter Einbeziehung der wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse der vergangenen 30 Jahre und unter Anwendung standardisierter Methoden der Risikoabschätzung.
